The much-anticipated James Gunn movie, which is a DC film about a group of convicts who take on a suicidal mission, is a standalone sequel to David Ayer’s 2016 Suicide Squad, and focuses on a team of super villains, including Peacemaker, Bloodsport, King Shark, Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang.

The villains are freed from Belle Reve penitentiary to take on a dangerous mission to destroy a Nazi-era prison and laboratory.

Like other WB blockbusters, it’s only available on the streamer for one month. So it won’t be available after Sept. 5.

There have already been a lot of big names and blockbusters released in the streaming halls of  HBO Max. Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat, Conjuring 3 The Devil Made Me Do It, Space Jam.  

After the initial month-long release, these new films disappear from HBO Max for a while so they can have an online and DVD/Blu-ray home release, but they come back to HBO Max eventually.
